TOOON Foundation brings music to life
Early this year, seven music associations from the Moerdijk municipality joined forces. After many inspiring conversations and meetings, the following emerged TOOON: Toekomst Orkesten Op Orde en Niveau Foundation. The goal? Making music together, joining forces and giving young and old the chance to get acquainted with the magic of musical instruments.
Music associations from Langeweg, Zevenbergschen Hoek, Standdaarbuiten, Fijnaart, Zevenbergen and Klundert are carrying this initiative. They share the same ambition: to keep music accessible, develop talent and strengthen the connecting power of music. Because making music is meer than playing notes - it brings people together, across village boundaries.
New Talent Orchestra
As the first joint project, the New Talent Orchestra. On August 23, as many as 61 newcomers gathered for an initial introduction. During this meeting, participants discovered which instrument suited them best. The atmosphere was curious, enthusiastic and expectant.
Retrieved from Sept. 20 the very first official rehearsal will take place. Under the guidance of the enthusiastic conductor Arlette Zwaans and experienced musicians, the new members are taking their first steps into the world of ensemble playing and sound.
A particularly connecting role was played by the culture coach of meer Moerdijk. She supported this project from the very first consultation to the elaboration of the rehearsals. Through her enthusiasm and commitment, the associations were brought closer together and the cooperation was strengthened. And what makes this extra special: she is also participating herself, as she is learning to play the trumpet!
Together on the road to implementation
The journey of the new musicians will soon have a wonderful climax: a joint performance in The Niervaert in Klundert. There, budding musicians will show how quickly they can grow together. A musical feast for the participants, their associations and the entire audience.

The TOOON Foundation was able to realize this initiative thanks to the valuable grant and support of the municipality Moerdijk, whom the foundation supports. The community recognizes the importance of music for health, well-being and social connection. Making music contributes to relaxation, enjoyment and strengthening the community.
A future full of music
With Foundation TOOON there is a solid foundation for cooperation, talent development and enjoyment of music. It shows what is possible when associations find each other in their passion and together inspire new generations.
